The Role of the Medical Team

Your surgeon (Ophthalmologist / Corneal Specialist) is very experienced in the pre-operative, operative, and post-operative management of LASIK & PRK-LASEK.  Our Clinical Techs and Assistants (i.e. COT, COA and OA's) are extensively trained in understanding the diagnosis and care of the post refractive eye and act under the direct supervision of the ophthalmologist.

The Medical Team

Your refractive surgeon Stephen Gee, M.D. is highly experienced in the medical and surgical management of eye diseases and refractive errors.  In addition to four years of undergraduate studies at Iowa State University, your surgeon has spent four years in medical school followed by a medical or surgical internship.  Your ophthalmologist has also completed a three or four year residency in ophthalmology and has undergone refractive surgical certification for use of the VISX Star S4 IR and NIDEK EC-5000 excimer laser systems.  Your surgeon has completed a course to certify him as a surgeon trained to perform the LASIK procedure along with certification training on the use of the IntraLaseall laser flap creation system.  Dr. Gee has excellent experience in providing the best post-operative care for our LASIK and PRK-LASEK patients.
