In March 1997, the Pan Pacific Laser Vision Center opened its doors with our state-of-the-art refractive eye clinic located in Honolulu, Hawaii.  This was achieved under the guidance of the late Donald Johnson, M.D. of the London Place Eye Center of Vancouver, British Columbia.  He was a world renowned refractive surgeon who had performed over 45,000 refractive procedures and directed several laser centers in achieving excellence in outcomes, safety and satisfaction.

With the leadership of Alita Soon, Administrator and C.O.T. a comprehensive and well-trained technical staff was formed.  The center has also been committed to being an open-access facility to our community ophthalmologists and the majority of Hawaii ophthalmologists have performed their first cases safely and successfully at PPLVC.  In 1999, Stephen Gee, M.D. was appointed as Medical Director of Pan Pacific Laser and together launched the most successful and affordable laser vision correction program in Hawaii.  Together they have now performed over 16,000 LASIK and PRK-LASEK refractive procedures at our center in Honolulu.

PPLVC was the only center in Hawaii to house more than two lasers now the NIDEK EC-5000™ and the VISX Star S4 IR (Iris Registration™), provide us the best combination, allowing surgeons to tailor laser treatments more to your specific individual needs.
